Schedule of Activities
(The schedule of activities is intended to help the client better manage the time that is under the control of the client)

1) The owner finalizes identification of needs and a "Preliminary Scope of Services" is developed. |

2) Determination if competitive selection of design professional is appropriate and if so, method to be used to obtain statements of interest. |

3A) Used if public advertisement to be used |

a) Draft advertisement and send to newspapers |
|
|
b) Dates ad to appear in newspapers |
|
|
3B) Used if "Statements of Interest" are to be obtained by invitation |
|
|
a) Identify designers to be invited to submit "Statements of Qualifications" |
|
|
b) Draft invitation and mail to identified designers |
|
|
4) Letters and Statements of Qualification due. (Allow a minimum of 14 days for designers to submit their materials after first ad published or Invitation mailed.) |
|
|
5) Evaluate "Statements of Interest" and investigate references. Develop short-list of designers to be interviewed. |
|
|
6) Memo mailed to short-listed designers advising them of the date for interviews and pre-interview tour or tours of site and/or facilities, along with criteria to be reviewed during the interview and any other appropriate material. |
|
|
7) Memo mailed to all respondents, excluding those who have been short- listed, informing them of those that have been scheduled to be interviewed and expressing appreciation for their interest. |

|
|
8) Schedule tour
of facilities/site for designers on short-list. Tours to he held on _____(Date)_______
at _____(location)_____ . |

9) Scheduled interviews for short-listed teams to be held at the time and location previously communicated. The design professional for the project to be selected based on qualifications. |

|
10) Memo mailed to all design teams interviewed informing them of the results of the interviews and expressing appreciation for their involvement. |

|
11) Contract covering final Scope of Services and fee is negotiated with selected design team and implemented. |
